Yikes...

So I made it back to SBC, several weeks ago. I am so glad they are still open, would miss them incredibly if they closed, and it would certainly be a great loss for beer lovers everywhere. But with that said... I am terribly dissappointed. They do have a much more extensive beer list, and they have some magnificent beers. At least they do sometimes. Seems everything I wanted to order was out (they were out of at least 3 beers I wanted to enjoy.) And I say this in my saddest, most pathetic, woe is me voice: They are not brewing the hefeweizen anymore. That hefe is the standard to which my husband and I compare all hefes! I have gloated and bragged and convinced people to drive to Sac soley for the hefe (I do push the IPA too)... whatever will I do without my hefe? Sacramento in the summer is already horrendous, and now it shall be that much worse without the delight of hefe to keep me from melting in Sacramento. Anyway, as I said, they do have some excellent beers to choose from in their beer list, as long as you get there within a few days of tapping, Bear Republic brews being among my favorites. I went on Easter as well as they had dogfish head Aprihop. I have always wanted to try that and it was rather yummy. (It would never be an everyday beer, but an excellent choice for to have. ) They at one time had Maudite on draft, and some local Rubicon brews. I do believe they had far too may Firestone Walker taps. Don't get me wrong, its dcent beer, and good to have as variety, but they dedicated like 5 taps to them. There is definitely far superior beer to be pouring...

Overall, I will still visit SBC whenever I can, and I will probably cry in my beer every time as I will be wishing for a hefe... But I still highly reccomend them, they are just no longer in my top faves...
